In 1888, the college division started out as part of St. Joseph’s school. The College Branch became associated with the University of Calcutta in 1927. By 1949 the institution had been fully affiliated to teach B.A. and B.Sc. and the college subsequently became an associate with the affiliation of the University of North Bengal in 1962. St. Joseph’s College is the Co-educative College and Post-Graduate College for Catholic Minority.
